Sungai Tua Recreational Forest is one of the main gateways to Selangor State Park (Taman Warisan Negeri Selangor).
This recreational park is located just 15km north of the world-renowned Batu Caves.
Most of the facilities at Sungai Tua Recreational Forest are managed by the Selangor Forestry Department, who has a site office at one of the main parking areas, while some are managed by the local council or privately-owned.
Sungai Tua Recreational Forest consists primarily of young, regenerating secondary forests. It is full of unique tropical flora and fauna such as the Saraca, a plant that is often used for ornamental purposes and found naturally by forest riverbanks. There are also a small number of old-growth forest trees remaining here.
Facilities at the main site include riverside gazebos for picnicking, camping grounds and changing rooms. And, of course, a beautiful river to swim in with many rocks, boulders and plants to add to the beauty.
