One of the fastest ways to reach KLIA or KLIA2 airport from Kuala Lumpur city center is via the Express Rail Link (ERL), also known as KLIA Express.
The KLIA Express or ERL is an airport train service that is fast, safe and reliable. Besides KLIA, the route also serves KLIA2 (about 2.5km away), making it very convenient for those who regularly travel on budget airlines.
KLIA Express vs KLIA Transit
The ERL provides 2 train services, the KLIA Express and KLIA Transit, both of which depart from KL Sentral station in the city center.
KLIA Express is a non-stop, express train service going to and from KL Sentral station and KLIA/KLIA2. Travelling time is 28 minutes and 31 minutes respectively, and the ticket price is RM55 for a single trip or RM100 return.
KLIA Transit is a commuter train service going to and from KL Sentral station and KLIA/KLIA2 with 3 stops along the way; Bandar Tasik Selatan (for interchanging with KTM trains, LRT, or express buses at the TBS-BTS bus terminal), Salak Tinggi and Putrajaya. Travelling time to reach KLIA and KLIA2 is 37 minutes and 40 minutes respectively. Different fares apply for the stops along the way but the price is the same as KLIA Express if you will be stopping at KLIA/KLIA2.
