The Maybank Numismatic Museum is located on the first floor of Maybank’s headquarters at Menara Maybank in Jalan Tun Perak, Kuala Lumpur.
It is within walking distance from Muzium Telekom, Petaling Street (Chinatown) and Masjid Jamek.
Highlights include uncut banknotes, old banknotes from the first series issued in the country, Malayan Dollar banknotes (1939-1953), Sarawak Dollar banknotes (1858-1953), Malaya and British Borneo Dollar (1953-1967) banknotes and commemorative banknotes such as the:
- 1998 Commonwealth Games RM50 polymer banknote;
- Malaysia’s 50th Anniversary of Independence RM50 banknote; and
- 60th Anniversary of the Signing of the Federation of Malaya Independence Agreement RM60 and RM600 banknote.
The museum also serves as a centre for research into Malaysia’s numismatic history.

Menara Maybank, which houses the museum, is located in Kuala Lumpur near Jalan Pudu.
By Train
If you are using the LRT, stop at Plaza Rakyat LRT Station, which is only 5 minutes walk from the Maybank Tower.
By Bus
If you are on the KL Hop-On Hop-Off bus, get down at Dataran Merdeka for the short walk to the museum.
